Top and Interesting Places + Best Guide for 4D3N in Singapore

Happy New Year everyone!!

Technically, it's not... New Year's day... It's already 4th January when I'm writing this but hey; it's still the weeks in which people still write 8 instead of 9 so it still counts! Wow, seriously, where has time passed?? I feel like it was only yesterday when I was still planning my 2018 resolution! Now it's already 2019?? I feel old!

I actually managed to cleared off my 2018 Resolution: Travel to Southeast Asian countries; and I successfully ticked off  Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore and to be honest, I'm quite proud. It's a hard thing to achieve when you have a full-time job with minimal paid leave; but hey I did it!

Okay, so I'm sure you don't have time to read about my boring New Year's eve, so let's go straight to the point of this post.

So, last September, I had the opportunity to visit Singapore for 4 days, because Lynn and I scored two tickets to see Interactive Introverts (thanks to Ezz!). If you never heard of this, it's a stage show by Youtube duo, Dan and Phil. A quick google search will lead you to them but that's not important anyway (lol). The thing is; I've always wanted to visit Singapore since our lovely friend Ezz lives there; and we've met in Seoul and Malaysia but we've never had the opportunity to visit her there. The show is one of the.. excuse to finally step to Singapore and experience its wonders.

After doing some research; I've managed to compiled an itinerary to fully enjoy Singapore.

Here I will list down all the interesting places you should consider visiting once you're in Singapore.

1. Universal Studio Singapore

Might sound cliche, but USS is really a theme park you shouldn't miss out on. I've visited USS and USJ now and let me tell you; you will never see a single frown when you're inside this magical place. Spend a day here because there is a lot of daily shows you wouldn't want to miss. Arrive early in the morning to get a picture with the Universal Globe when there is no one to photobomb you; line up at the front line, and run inside with excitement!

A lot of restaurants in the park served certified halal food, so Muslims, we don't have to starve ourselves or bring a tupperware food from home! But if you don't want to waste money on expensive (darn they are expensive but so worth it to dine at Mel's Drive-In diner!) food, you can always get something to eat outside USS; as Sentosa have a food court and lots of other restaurants located near the USS entrance.

You can purchase the ticket at the counter or via KLOOK for MYR 200+ for one-day pass.

 2. ArtScience Museum

This is one of my top list when I was planning the itinerary for Singapore.

The building resembles a lotus flower; and this resemblance continues as you walk down to the entrance when you will be greeted by a pond full of lotus. As the name suggests; it hosts art exhibitions in scientific and digitalized form. The permanent exhibition, the ArtScience Gallery, consists of three galleries - Curiosity, Inspiration, Expression.

On some occasions, they will host Touring Exhibitions and lucky for us, during that time, the Marvel Studio did an exhibition tour and came to Singapore!

I don't want to spoil the exhibition, but I can guarantee it was one of the highlight of the trip. (If you want, you can visit my Instagram (@atikahikari) and watch my Singapore Highlights as I posted a lot about the Marvel Studio). So if you happen to visit the museum, do make a quick google search to know if there is any Touring Exhibition hosting during the date of your visit. It will be worth it.

It seems the price in KLOOK is a lot cheaper compare to the one at the counter, so I suggest you buy the tickets there instead. The price is around SGD 18.00 for adult but at KLOOK you can get ticket for MYR 37.00 (plus the ticket for the Marvel Studio = around MYR 90+)

Yes, I do bought all tickets in advance at KLOOK because I'm the kind who is too lazy and annoyed to queue at the counter haha.

3. Gardens by the Bay

To tourists and travelers like us, Singapore is well known with this modern futuristic-styled garden. It's concept is kinda like Central Park in New York City; a garden within a city (or a city in the garden? I'm not sure I'm confused). It is certainly big though! If you don't have the stamina to cross the garden to get to the Supertree groove, please take one of the buggy shuttle. It was quite an exercise for us, to be honest.

Visit the Flower Dome to experience the Mediterranean-like climate for succulents and baobabs and enter the Cloud Forest to see the world's tallest indoor waterfall falling from a 35-meter mountain of lush vegetation. Of course, you can visit Gardens by the Bay for free, but if you plan to go to Cloud Forest, Flower Dome or OCBC Skyway, you may get the tickets at the counter or yes, KLOOK.

The price is MYR 70.00 including the admission for Cloud Forest + Flower Dome
Or MYR 90.00 if include both plus OCBC Skyway.

There is Garden Rhapsody light and music show every night around 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Take a spot at the Supertree Groove area, relax and enjoy the show.

4. Haji Lane (Arab Street) + Sultan Mosque

The street where you can get all the delicious halal food and cheap souvenirs! This is also where you can go to some of the coolest cafes and look at some tasteful wall-arts. Usually, the streets will be busier at nights, and they will close down some of the streets to accommodate the people coming there to eat and drink. It will certainly be a good place to visit.

While you were there, go and visit the iconic Sultan Mosque, with its traditional design and golden dome. Of course, if you're a Muslim, you get to pray there with all the locals of the city.

5. Merlion Park

A Singapore landmark and a major tourist attraction, located near One Fullerton, Singapore. The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish that is widely used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore.

From this side, you can also get a great view of the Marina Bay Sands and the ArtScience Museum. You can cross to get there by Esplanade Bridge and Helix Bridge; unfortunately when we were there, the bridge was close due to the Singapore GrandPrix tournament; so we had to go there using MRT.

6. Singapore Zoo + Night Safari + Lumina Rainforest

If you go to Singapore with kids, take the opportunity to go see the animals at the Singapore Zoo or take them on a Night Safari walk. Since we were not really interested, we went there at night to visit the Lumina Rainforest instead. Which, I am sure that kids will absolutely love it too, since it's a multimedia night walk with interesting and cool features. Just beware because it's quite dark and you might want to watch your steps. And most animals were asleep during the night so you won't get to see any.

However, this is not an everyday event. This event will only be features until 19th February 2019. The tickets price is SGD 22 for adult and SGD 16 for kids.
