The Best Guide for 3D2N Trip to Krabi, Thailand Complete with Budget: Part 2 - Phi-Phi Island

DAY 2: Phi phi Island Tour

We woke up early for breakfast and were excited for our Phi phi Island trip!

Before we depart, I already did some light research and found out that Maya Bay is closed for several months for restoration from the Thailand government :( I am not sure how long it is closed, but most likely it will be closed until October or November 2018.

The pick-up van arrived at 8.15 am to drive us to the Aonang Beach. There, we gather with almost 30 other people with our lady tour guide who told us to call her Rihanna (lol). With the speedboat, it took around 40 minutes to arrive at our first stop; Bamboo Island.

Next, we were taken to the Pileh Bay for an amazing scenery and swimming. The water was crystal clear and it was so beautiful that I could see the bottom of the sea even with the depth of 4 meters!

After that, our trip continued to Viking Cave for pictures and a bit of history of the cave.

Next stop; Monkey Bay. I was more interested in the sea than the monkeys (besides, here in Malaysia we have plenty of monkey too anyway haha) so the white tourists are more keen on seeing the monkeys. At this point, I was already having a slight seasick, so when the boat stop, I was ready to jump into the water.

Later we stopped at Phi Phi Don, where we had lunch and rest for about an hour.

Our last agenda was supposed to take picture at the front of Maya Bay. Even though it's closed, we can still hover around at the entrance for pictures. But, something happened at Phi phi Don. We were supposed to gather at the boat precisely at 2.30pm, but after all are gathered, our lady tour guide noticed that several girls were missing. They went out to search and we had to wait for 30 minutes before the girls were seen running to the boat. It seems they forgot the time when they were so busy taking pictures! Oh my god! The tour guide scolded them (as she should) and because of that, we had to cancel the Maya Bay trip because it was already 3.00 pm and we supposed to arrive at the Aonang Beach at 4.00pm!

So guys, please take note; please respect the time when you go on tour. Not only you you, it affects the tour guide as well as other people on the tour. Because of these girls, we 26 people had to forget our plan to see Maya Bay because of time restriction.

By 4.00pm, we gathered at Aonang Beach and were sent back to the hotel by a van. After resting and cleaning up, we walked out to Aonang Beach area for souvenir hunting, foot massage and dinner.
